
It’s incredibly humorous to see how the operators look in awe, only for him to drag a keycard by a guy’s neck. While the E3 playable demo is light on story, it does feature one scene involving Doomslayer marching in a control room looking for a keycard. Thankfully this was my only issue with the game as a whole, and I am sure they’ll fix this in the final release. However during the tutorial stage where the game tasks players to use said feature to kill an enemy hiding behind a glass wall, the rocket detonation proved to be finicky. The rocket launcher in particular has the capability of detonating its rockets mid-flight. Similar to 2016 Doom, they also have secondary options like shooting mini grenades. Each weapon in the game has its basic firing capabilities, like traditional shotguns and rocket launchers. It’s also useful in assisting in various platforming challenges. New to Eternal is the dash function that allows quick escapes from an onslaught of enemies. The Doomslayer still retains all of his actions from the last game. Naturally, creating a sequel to such a resounding success is quite a tall order, but thankfully Doom Eternal is shaping up quite nicely. Its classic approach to level design combined with modern aesthetics made it an instant classic. The game even debuted some truly imaginative stages that ended up being quite memorable in their own right. Turns out there are quite a few interesting mods that change the way you play, essentially lengthening DOOM's lifespan until Eternal arrives. So instead of playing with DOOM's (2016) nightmare mode for the millionth time, you ought to try modding the game. Thankfully, id Software has heard out anguished cries and is poised to release DOOM Eternal, the sad part is that we don't get it until 2020. Suffice to say, we all want more DOOM and more angry DOOM guy violent tantrums.

Not only that, but it also added a new twist to the aging first-person shooter (FPS) convention. DOOM (2016) has certainly lived up to the legacy of its legendary and infamous predecessors.
